Mongolia to extend lockdown till June 20, 2020

On Wednesday (27 May), the Mongolian Cabinet approved extending  the period of advanced emergency readiness until 30 June in order to prevent an imported wave of coronavirus. The quarantine measures were first announced on 27 January.  The lockdown extension was decided by the National Emergency Commission on 25 May. This new extension of lockdown means, international flights in Ulaanbaatar will not be resuming until 1 July.

Furthermore, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh said that country will open its borders with Russia and China only after the vaccines against COVID-19 are launched. Mongolia has been in total lockdown since 11 March when the country closed its borders.
